Micellar water cleansers for glowing skin

Micellar water isn’t a new concept in beauty by any means. French women have touted its benefits for decades. The problem has always been that it wasn’t widely available in the United States, which meant that either we traveled to Europe to buy some or just had to do without. Thankfully this gentle cleansing solution has finally made it across the pond. Whether you’re a high-end or drugstore beauty shopper, there are dozens of choices.

So what is micellar water? It’s simply micelles–spheres of oil–that are suspended in water. As simple as it is, these products do an incredibly great job of cleansing the skin without stinging or stripping out moisture. Acne-prone, dry, oily, aging…practically any type of skin can benefit from these gentle cleansers.

Although micellar water cleansers come in all price points, I happen to love the uber-affordable products featured below.

Ergobaby introduces the new Natural Curve nursing pillow

As wonderful as nursing can be, it often leads to some surprising aches and pains. If not adequately supported and aligned, breastfeeding moms develop neck, arm and back strain. When Ergobaby began designing and developing their own nursing pillow, they actually spoke to new moms and lactation experts about what current nursing pillows were lacking. What resulted was the Natural Curve pillow. The pillow’s firmness coupled with the ergonomic design means that there’s more support, plus better positioning and alignment for both baby and mom. Shop through the links below or read more about Ergobaby’s Natural Curve nursing pillow at ergobaby.com.

There’s no occasion where a dress won’t be a perfect outfit choice. This summer instead of grabbing for a pair of your everyday jean shorts and t-shirt, grab a casual dress that will keep you looking good and cool all at the same time.

Go back to school with Toms Standup Backpacks

My tiny kindergartner had been in school exactly two days before a 12-year-old began bullying her on the bus last year. Since the school wouldn’t do anything, I took matters into my own hands by making sure I was available to shuttle her to and from school myself. Unfortunately, many bullying fixes aren’t this easy, which is why I appreciate the supportive services of No Bully and Crisis Text Line. It’s also why I love the idea of Toms Standup Backpacks. True to the company’s charitable model, for every backpack purchased, Toms will support No Bully and Crisis Text line. To see the full collection of Toms Standup Backpacks or to read more about the initiative, visit toms.com.

For work or casual days, nothing polishes up an ensemble more than a great blazer. With temperatures soaring, though, no one wants to add sleeves. Perfect for these sweltering summer days, sleeveless blazers are a great way to go. Pair them with practically anything–dress, skirt, jeans, pants or even shorts. And anything you buy now will work perfectly well into fall and winter with simple tees and blouses underneath.

Even if a Parisian city tour isn’t on the agenda for summer, you can at least channel your inner Francophile by wearing one of summer’s on trend graphic tees that feature French sayings and graphics. Fall must-have: fringe bags

$

Fringe has been a huge fashion story for 2015, and it doesn’t show any signs of waning as fall and winter near. If you’ve waited to adopt the trend–or if you just want to add to your fringe collection–fringe bags are perfect. While some give off a rugged Western vibe, others (like the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac below) are amazingly chic. Go for vegan leather, real leather or (my personal pick) rich, autumnal suede. It’s impossible to go wrong with great fringe bags for fall and winter 2015.

Back-to-School 2015: must-have backpacks

There’s no better way for a kid to show their personality then through their backpack. Between uniforms and dress codes, a backpack is also one of the only ways for them to showcase their own personal style. While style is important, so is function when it comes to a backpack so we’ve rounded our favorites that come in tops in both categories.

Transition into fall with slip-on sneakers

$

Back-to-school time usually signals fall shopping whether you’re going back to class or not. While it may be too hot to consider fall and winter boots, transitional shoes like slip-on sneakers are perfect purchases this time of year. A bit more covering than sandals, these casuals look cute with summer dresses and shorts, but they also move seamlessly into fall with jeans and athleisure styles. Although there are plenty of old-school canvas slip-on sneakers on the market, I happen to love the fun prints and textures on the styles featured below.

While we have no idea what Mother Nature has in store for us from one week to the next, what we do know is that eventually the heat will subside and we’ll be headed into cooler weather as the fall season approaches. So while we are switching from anchor and pineapple prints of summer to pumpkin and apple prints for fall, add these five key wardrobe pieces to your closet for an easy and stylish transition from one season to the next.

Splurge or save? : bag charms for every budget

$

Perhaps the most fun trend for 2015 is the bag charm. A bit frivolous? Yes, but they’re a great way to add some personality to your handbags. Although most of us won’t be indulging in Fendi’s cute “Fur Bugs” (which ring in at nearly $1000!), the bag charms trend is still totally attainable for all budgets. Buy a few “save” styles and swap them out all season long, or go with a splurge-worthy charm and make a statement. Either way, they’re a great way to update your favorite bag without doing anything drastic.

Fall 2015 trend: vests

Weather during the fall season can be unpredictable, ranging from rainy and windy to hot and humid. Be prepared this coming fall season by layering your clothes so you are warm when you need to be and can shed a layer or two when the sun starts to shine. One trend that we’re loving for fall is the vest trend which ranges from a military-inspired cargo vest to a boho vest duster that almost hits just below your knees. Pick one or two styles that you love and wear them everywhere this fall with jeans, booties and a favorite tee.

If ‘preppy’ or ‘dressy’ isn’t your child’s sartorial pick, don’t sweat it. The must-have this school year is high tops. Of course basic old-school styles are always a smart choice, but some of the coolest high tops are the ones that incorporate eye-catching embellishments like glitter, in-your-face saturated color and rubber sole bumpers. Wearing one of the styles featured below, your little ones will be ready for any pick-up game of tag…and they’ll look super cute.

Seeing green for fall 2015

Before we know it the leaves will be turing those beautiful shades of red and yellow, as they do every fall season, and the only green we’ll be seeing is what we’ll be wearing. From your toes to your nose, bold shades of green is what you’ll want to see and be seen in this coming season. Try a pair of skinny jeans in an emerald green color or go for a pair of hunter green flats to make your outfit pop.

From flares to fringe, the ’70s are back for fall 2015. Possibly one of the easiest ways to look the part is with bohemian-cool saddle bags. In all materials and all price points, these retro-inspired flap handbags are accessible for every budget and lifestyle. If you plan to wear this style to work, choose a sleek, slightly sophisticated style like the London Fog or Ann Taylor saddle bags below. For weekend (or a less rigid office dress code), pick a style with interesting cutouts, colors or accents. Although there are some beautiful splurge-worthy saddle bags out there, the styles featured below are gorgeous and very easy on the wallet.

Fall 2015 trend: Longline Blazers

This fall season you can trade last year’s bomber jacket in for a longline blazer that is reminiscent of 70s fashion. Paired perfectly with wide-leg pants or a mini skirt, the blazer adds posh and class to any old outfit you already have in your closet. You can definitely wear it to office or give it a try on your next date night as the cooler fall weather starts to settle in.
