With Normcore’s popularity, it was really only a matter of time before the fanny pack resurrected itself as a trend. Well, it’s back, but (shockingly) the 21st Century fanny pack isn’t really all that bad. First, there’s the name change to belt bags or fanny bags. The real difference, however, comes with the aesthetics. Rich leather has replaced the quick-to-stain ripstop nylon, structure has replaced sagging shapelessness, and refined hardware has taken the place of plastic snaps and hooks. You can’t argue with the convenience of belt bags, either. Whether you need to keep valuables close or need to go hands-free, if there was ever a time to try this trend, it’s now!
