Who wore it best? Valentino's black and white jumpsuit
Jumpsuits along with black and white are still trending with celebs. This strapless Valentino creation stylishly falls under both categories and two stars have already worn the standout piece this year. Back in January, Lena Dunham attended the New York City second season premiere of her hit HBO series, Girls, outfitted in the black jumpsuit with white banded accent that wraps around the back in the form of an oversized bow. Fred Leighton jewels and basic black pumps completed Lena's look. Miley Cyrus also opted for the jumpsuit at the 2013 Maxim Hot 100 Party in Hollywood earlier this month. She capped off her look with a pair of striped Saint Laurent Paloma sandals.
While both ladies wore Valentino well, this one comes down to footwear. Miley's Saint Laurent sandals were definitely the more dynamic choice, so despite her heavy-handed makeup, she gets our vote here.

Guilty pleasures: we all need them
In today's high-stress world, we all need to find a way to let off a little steam. Whether it be via an adventurous vacation, a night out with the girls or hot yoga on the weekends, finding a little time to decompress helps to keep a person sane and ready to face another day. How you choose to unwind is a very personal decision since not everything works for everyone.
Over the years, I've experimented with a variety of ways to unwind, everything from exercise to crossword puzzles to kniting, but there's nothing that turns my active, stressed-out brain to the "off" position like my true guilty pleasure: trashy novels. At the end of a long day, it's like a rich dessert for my soul: no nutritional value but sinfully delicious.
It all started with the Twilight series and last year's New York Times best-selling guilty pleasure, Fifty Shades of Grey. Until then, I thought all books had to be meaningful and Oprah-worthy. Suddenly, I was discovering the joy of reading novels that didn't require any deep thinking or intellectual investment and enjoying the temporary mental vacation they gave me.
I soon went down the rabbit hole of guilty pleasure reading, filling my Kindle with titles that sound too ridiculous and embarrassing to say out loud -- and enjoying them thoroughly. Do I feel guilty reading such escapist trash? Maybe just the teensiest bit. Sure, I could use that hour or two an evening to catch up on world events, learn a new skill, get some exercise or organize my closet, but the relaxation and "time out" it provides me is far more beneficial to my well-being than any of those things. Don't judge!

Nicole Kidman: After debuting not one but two intricate braids at Cannes Film Festival, the debate of whether braids are appropriate past a certain age has been answered with a very sophisticated sounding "Yes!". Carey Mulligan really loves her Brian Atwood Aida platform sandals
Carey has certainly been embracing a minimalist look when it comes to her style these days. The Great Gatsby actress has frequently opted for no makeup and very streamlined ensembles on the red carpet. She's also pretty consistent when it comes to her footwear. Although Carey does occasionally swap in a pair of Saint Laurent T-strap pumps, she mainly relies on her trusty Brian Atwood Aida platform sandals.
These black satin double platforms with buckled halter strap capped off her look earlier this month at the New York City unveiling of The Great Gatsby. A bright red strapless Lanvin Fall 2013 dress accented by Tiffany & Co. jewelry completed her premiere attire. She also attended her film's special Pre-Met Gala screening in New York City wearing a black menswear-inspired Lanvin Spring 2013 outfit. Brian Atwood's Aida sandals once again rounded out the look. Carey kept the elevated shoes in heavy rotation over in Cannes, too. She not only wore the Aida for the festival's IFP, Calvin Klein Collection& Euphoria Calvin Klein Celebrate Women In Film event, but even selected the platforms for the premiere of Inside Llewyn Davis. The center slit on her black and white Vionnet Fall 2013 gown allowed onlookers the occasional glimpse at her favored footwear.
There's no denying that Brian Atwood's Aida sandals are a great option, but we just wish Carey would spice things up a bit in the shoe department.

Love it or hate it: Brit Marling's Balenciaga Fall 2013 outfit
Brit has been making a name for herself in Hollywood and on the red carpet. She usually opts for a minimalistic look, favoring more neutral shades like black and white. This multitalented star is definitely not afraid of taking a few risks when it comes to style, though. Brit stood out at the Los Angeles premiere of The East earlier this week in a fashion-forward Balenciaga Fall 2013 ensemble. Her white satin blouse was paired with black tapered pants and a bow-accented short sleeve tailcoat. Black peep-toe pumps capped off the look. What to wear to a low-key summer wedding
Q. I'm going to a wedding on June 15 at a country B&B in Vermont. It's a very intimate - only 30 guests - outdoor ceremony with a dinner afterward but no real "reception" or dancing. The bride said "there is no dress code" when I asked. What on earth do I wear? The B&B is kind of upscale/expensive, but she kept stressing the wedding was low key.
