When I began traveling extensively with my own children, a friend suggested that I buy kids’ travel journals for each trip. It was genius! My 6-year-old loves packing her journal everywhere she goes, drawing pictures, writing down memories and (later) adding photographs. When we’re stuck in the car or plane, or when we’re trying to eek out extra time at dinner, we pull out the journal and let her fill in highlights from the day. Besides the educational and entertainment aspects, kids’ travel journals are also perfect for recording the small-but-important events that are all too easy to forget.
