Chanel‘s creations are routinely favored by celebs for red carpet events. The fashion house produces some of the most expansive collections season after season, so it’s amazing that one dramatic gown has been worn by so many stars. On Monday, Crystal Renn selected a Fall 2011 white cap sleeve gown with black shredded skirt for the New Yorkers For Children’s annual spring dinner dance in New York City. While there’s no denying that Crystal looks great, this is the fourth outing of the multifaceted piece. Lily Allen attended the 57th BFI London Film Festival Closing Night Gala and Premiere of Saving Mr. Banks last October in the same two-tone gown, although she opted to keep the original embroidered leaf waistband. A Chanel Lego clutch polished off the look. Back in January 2012, Emilia Clarke slipped it on for that year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The Game of Thrones actress wasn’t the first to rock this look, though. Zoe Kravitz had the honor of premiering the gown at the 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York City. She also skipped that flashy waistband accent.
Did Crystal outshine her predecessors or should this gown be retired from the red carpet already?
