Raised by furniture specialists, designer Faris Du Graf originally set out to be an architect. But she soon realized that her true passion was the actual creation of things – so she replaced her office with a metalsmithing studio. She debuted her jewelry line, Faris, in early 2013 and her work explores the complexity and simplicity of shapes. She seeks to maximize the impact of minimal materials. Every Faris piece begins with a sketch and a sheet of metal, and she draws inspiration from historical art, contemporary culture and the rich community of craft around her. Here are a few pieces that caught our eye from the latest collection:
Pineapple Necklace – $285
Tropical Sphinx Earrings – $225
Pina Ring – $145
