NY Fashion Week Spring 2014 collections continue at Lincoln Center. Here are a few highlights from earlier this week.
TOMMY HILFIGER
Based on the sandy set and boardwalk runway at the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2014 fashion show, I was expecting pretty standard preppy, beachy fare reminiscent of The Hamptons. Basically, Tommy Hilfiger's bread and butter. But for better or worse, the collection veered very modern, sometimes verging on futuristic with the use of surf-inspired neoprene and sleek colorblocking. It was a bit of a departure for the brand and refreshing, though perhaps not so expertly executed as the preppy collegiate of Fall 2013.

DONNA KARAN
It's fitting that Donna Karan is the force behind Urban Zen; the designer has a unique knack for delivering city-ready looks with a tribal twist.
This season, Karan showed off her knack for doing just that with a collection of her classically draped pieces mixed in with tribal and cowboy influenced prints and accessories, often done in rusty hues. Complementing the ready-to-wear were organic wood statement necklaces, heavy belts and chunky oversized leather hats, all of which served to add rawness to the designer's sinuous curves. Standouts included Karan's classic stretch jersey dresses, blanket coats and menswear-inspired T-shirt dresses.

TORY BURCH
Tory Burch was inspired by the French Riviera in the 1960s for her Spring 2014 collection, which came through vividly in the designer's retro swimwear, two-piece suits, day dresses and in the wide array of garden-colored prints -- even handbags came stuffed with flowers to hit the summery theme home.
Everything was utterly wearable, as is always the case with Burch, and among the standouts were collard shifts, checkered pants, slightly boxy monochrome skirt suits, lace detailed blouses, high shine separates and a handful of killer belt bags.
