Trendspotting: Celebs wear white to amfAR gala

This year's annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala at the Cannes International Film Festival marked the charitable event's 20th anniversary. The black tie affair raises funds for AIDS research programs and always draws an impressive crop of celebs to its glamorous auction. While bold pops of red, blue and pink were all well-represented, white ended up being one of the most popular hues of the night.



Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stood out at the gala in a crisp white Christian Dior look featuring a strapless bustier and asymmetrical skirt. She simply accessorized with a pair of matching Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps. Sharon Stone once again served as emcee at the auction and made a real impact in a white Roberto Cavalli gown with gold serpent accent on the back. Gold accessories and a unique starfish cuff polished off the look. It was a white Armani Privé ensemble for Janet Jackson at the event. She wrapped up her look with a Paolobongia ring and coordinating Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.



Eva Herzigova also opted for a white Christian Dior for the big night. Her silk gown included a sleek cut-out detail. Roberto Cavalli was the source of Kylie Minogue's embellished white gown. Chopard jewelry finished off the look. Model Chanel Iman kept the white theme going in this Atelier Versace creation. The gown with embellished sleeves and open back was styled with Chopard gems.
