For someone who declared that "the Met Ball is the most terrifying red carpet in existence," model and actress Brooklyn Decker sure seems to hide her nerves well.  While she looked great from the neck down, wearing a beaded Peter Pilotto dress to the PUNK: Chaos to Couture themed Met Gala, what she had going on above the neck particularly caught our attention. The deep side part in her hair stayed glam with waves cascading down one side while still managing to keep true to the evening's punk theme with studded hair pins holding the hair in place and also showing off her ear cuffs.

In her Met Gala Diary for ABC's News' blog, Brooklyn Decker shared that she and hairstylist Patrick Melville discussed the hair together and came up with the "pretty side part with a punk twist". Patrick Melville, an Aveeno celebrity hairstylist with over 20 years of industry experience, has a way of putting together gorgeous red carpet looks that can actually be replicated at home. He shared the steps he took to create the look for us to try a little punk couture hair of your own.

  • Blow dry hair straight
  • Use large barrel curling iron to create texture; for hair closer to the face, curl towards the face
  • Once hair is curled, spray hair with a Dry Shampoo like the Aveeno Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo to break apart the curls and amp up the texture
  • Part hair towards the left side of the head and wrap the hair from the left side of your face across your scalp towards the right
  • With bobby pins of your choice (in Brooklyn's case we used these really cool studded pins), fasten hair creating this asymmetrical look
